4.8
“Excellent service!! We had an emergency situation with a rental property. Eric made it all flow quickly and easily even though we only needed the unit for 2 weeks. Much appreciated!!.”
4.3
“We received excellent service through Eric! He was most helpful in this stressful situation. Due to needing an emergency repair in our rental house, the tenants had to vacate the property with only one days' notice. We only needed the unit for 2 weeks but Eric made that super easy and gave us a good rate!.”
Facility Information
Property Notes Section
Apalachee Self Storage sits at 2001 Apalachee Parkway in east Tallahassee, serving residents and businesses across Leon County. Every unit is climate controlled and inside a secure building, which matters more here than almost anywhere. Tallahassee summers are long and humid, and a unit that holds a steady temperature is the difference between belongings that keep and belongings that do not.
How to Find Us
We are on the south side of Apalachee Parkway, about a quarter mile east of Blairstone Road and one mile west of Capital Circle SE. That puts us roughly two miles east of downtown Tallahassee and the Florida State Capitol, and about 2.9 miles from Florida State University. Our facility is made up of three buildings, with the office in the middle building. Sitting on one of Tallahassee's busiest corridors means quick access whether you are coming from downtown, Southwood or the east side.
Storage Solutions
We offer a full range of unit sizes, from compact lockers and 5x5 units for personal items through 10x20 units for a full household move, up to 20x30 units for large inventory, equipment or commercial storage. Every unit is climate controlled, holding a steady temperature year-round to protect furniture, electronics, documents, photographs, instruments and seasonal gear from Tallahassee's heat and humidity. All rentals are month-to-month with no long-term commitment, and we do not require a security deposit.
Security and Access
Access hours are 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM, seven days a week. Every building entrance has a keypad, and you use the individual access code assigned to you at move-in. Your unit is then secured with your own disc lock, which we provide free at move-in. The property is covered by 24-hour security cameras and exterior LED lighting, and every building has fire sprinklers and detectors throughout. Our office is staffed 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and you can rent online, by phone or in person.
Serving East Tallahassee
We serve Southwood, Blairstone, Governors Park, Piney Z, Myers Park, Magnolia Heights Historic District, Woodland Drives, Apalachee Ridge and the neighborhoods along Capital Circle SE. Our location near Hilaman Golf Course, Lafayette Heritage Trail Park and Lake Jackson Mounds State Park makes us a natural fit for storing bicycles, kayaks, camping gear and golf clubs between trips.
Business and Commercial Storage in Tallahassee
Businesses across Tallahassee use us for inventory, equipment, records and seasonal overflow. Contractors and trades store tools and materials between jobs. Retailers and online sellers hold stock without paying for retail square footage. Restaurants store equipment and seasonal fixtures. Real estate agents keep staging furniture between listings. Medical, dental and legal practices archive files that have to stay dry and temperature stable.
Being about two miles from the Florida State Capitol also makes us convenient for state agencies, law firms and consultancies along the Apalachee Parkway and Capital Circle corridor.
Every unit is climate controlled, which matters for paper records, electronics and anything that would not survive a Florida summer in a standard outdoor unit. Sizes run up to 20x30 for larger inventory and equipment. Month-to-month terms mean you can scale up for a busy season and back down afterwards without renegotiating anything.
Student Storage for FSU and FAMU
We are about 2.9 miles from Florida State University and a long-standing choice for students storing between semesters. Month-to-month rentals mean you can store for a single summer without committing to a year. Climate control protects electronics, textbooks, instruments and furniture through the months you are away, and our 5x5 and 5x10 units are sized for a dorm room or an apartment bedroom.
Your Storage Solution in Tallahassee, FL
Whether you are an FSU student, an east Tallahassee homeowner, or a business needing inventory or records storage, Apalachee Self Storage offers climate controlled, keypad-secured units from 5x5 up to 20x30, with straightforward month-to-month terms. Rent online, give us a call, or stop by the office in the middle building to get started.

The average price of a storage unit in Tallahassee is $90.83.
There are a number of items you cannot store at Apalachee Self Storage.
You cannot store combustible materials because of the threat of them catching fire. These items include fireworks, fuel tanks, fertilizer, paint thinner, and so on. If it seems like it'll easily catch fire, avoid storing it. You also cannot store firearms.
You cannot store living animals or plants. Do not treat a storage space as a replacement for a proper pet sitter. Not only are storage spaces not built for people or animals to live in them, but the food you leave out for your pets could also attract pests. Similarly, plant soil could attract pests as well.
You cannot store food of any type including, but not limited to, canned foods, perishable foods, dry foods, or pet food for similar reasons. Food will attract pests and will cause an infestation in your storage space and spread to others.
Lastly, you cannot store illegal items such as prohibited weapons, illicit drugs, drug paraphernalia, and stolen items. If it's not legal to house it elsewhere, you cannot store it here.
Yes, every unit needs a lock, and you do not need to buy one. We provide a free lock with every new rental at Apalachee Self Storage, and it is yours to keep.
If you would rather use your own, a disc lock or a closed shackle padlock is the better choice. Both are far harder to cut than a standard padlock. You hold the key either way.
No. You do not need a reservation to rent at Apalachee Self Storage. You can complete the whole rental online, or call us and we will do it over the phone, whenever you are ready.
What is worth doing is renting ahead of your move. Pick your move-in date, sign the lease and finish the paperwork online now, and your unit is held and waiting for you on the day. Nothing left to sort out later.
Your access information is sent to you on your move-in day, so there is nothing to collect and no office visit to plan around. You arrive, let yourself in, and unload.
Moving day is busy enough. This is the one part you can get out of the way early.
The term indoor storage describes storage spaces that are found inside a building. These storage spaces provide protection against the elements as they're fully covered.
Drive-up storage spaces are located outside so you can literally drive right up to them. These spaces allow you to easily unload and load your vehicle, making it a breeze to put stuff in, or take stuff out of your storage space. These are convenient spaces if you know you're going to store belongings that would be difficult to carry in and out of a building, especially when those buildings have multiple floors.
Climate-controlled spaces maintain the ambient temperature within them between 50 and 80 degrees and the humidity between 30% and 50%. These temperature and humidity levels are ideal for keeping your things in great condition. Climate-controlled spaces are typically found indoors but some locations do offer drive-up climate-controlled spaces as well.
Your stored belongings need to be covered, and you can do that either way.
A protection plan is required unless you provide valid proof of homeowners or renters insurance that covers stored property. Bring that proof when you move in and no plan is needed.
We offer three plans. Our most popular is $16.00 per month for $3,000 of coverage. There is also a $14.00 plan covering $2,000 and an $18.00 plan covering $5,000, so you can match the cover to what you are actually storing.

“I rented a unit from here for three years and just moved out because we were able to consolidate our stuff. But I wanted to leave a review because over the three years we had exceptional service. The space was always clean and secure. In the rare occasion I had a question, I always received a prompt and friendly response. Even the move out was a completely positive experience. If I ever need storage space again, I would come back in a hot second..”

“The ID verification is a waste of time.”
